Encourage your friends and family to learn about all issues and candidates before heading to the polls.
Be vocal!
Tell your Ohio (and US) Congress Representatives and Senators how gerrymandering impacts you and your well being.

Make your calls. They tell you who to call for your chosen issue and provide an optional script. Just click the phone numbers.Review this (extensive) list from Ohioans Against Extremism. It summarizes bills that are running through the Ohio Statehouse at a rapid pace, and how you can take action on them (we suggest picking one or two that you are passionate about - especially if they have hearings coming up!): https://docs.google.com/document/d/1y6I3KklR_trf8TjasUhhHc4hdc3YYZW1TobinBIPi5Q/edit
Calling a representative’s office may seem scary, but keep in mind that the staff who answer the phones are paid to listen to your concerns and pass the message along to your elected official. You will find they are generally courteous and polite. If the line is busy, try again. It’s better to talk directly to the staffer than to leave a voicemail.
Also, call your representative even if you think they will vote for an issue you support. Our voice is so important that our representatives need to hear us either way.

Vote!
Just because the press says a district “leans” a certain way politically doesn’t mean that is how the voters will actually vote. That data is based on historical and current trends. You can help change the course of history! Some local elections are won by merely one vote!
Get Involved!
Find a civic-minded organization that supports your goals - and join it. There is power in our numbers when we work together! We can share ideas, motivate each other to take action on a common goal, and even have fun while doing it!
