We’re here to help Ohio voters—current and future—understand how the rules of elections, district maps, and campaign finance directly affect their power and participation. Through hands-on events, partnerships, and accessible resources, we aim to turn awareness into action and cynicism into confidence.

Our vision

We believe democracy works best when every voter’s voice is heard and every ballot truly counts. Our long-term goals include:

• Ending gerrymandering that distorts representation

• Fighting disenfranchisement in all its forms

• Promoting fair campaign finance

• Protecting citizen ballot initiatives—a cornerstone of Ohio’s democracy

These goals are ambitious, but we believe Ohioans are up for the challenge. We’re building momentum by learning, connecting, and creating impact step by step.

Who we are

Ohio Ballot Protection began in the summer of 2025, when a small group of Northeast Ohio women—active in Grass Roots Resistance (GRR)—met in a Westpark bar to talk about protecting democracy at the ballot box.

What started as those early conversations has grown into a focused, statewide effort to ensure fair and transparent elections in Ohio.

Our mission is simple but urgent: to restore voter confidence.

We educate and empower Ohioans on issues that shape their voice—protecting citizen ballot initiatives, ending gerrymandering, fighting disenfranchisement, and promoting fair campaign finance.

Together, we’re building a more informed, more confident, and more powerful electorate.
